Shane Stone was not born or raised in Wyoming. But as the old saying goes, he got here as soon as he could. His wife, Melissa, and he both originally hail from Missouri, but were thrilled to move to Wyoming in 2012. Melissa is a school nurse in the Campbell County School District. Shane has a Ph.D. in Leadership and teaches for the University of Wyoming. He is also the pastor at Wright Baptist Church. The two make their home in Wright, which is located on the edge of the Thunder Basin National Grassland in the northeast part of the state. Shane and Melissa have three grown children and two grandsons. Shane’s passion in life, beyond the incredible opportunities for hunting and fishing in Wyoming (!!), is equipping and encouraging believers to take their spiritual journey to the “next level.” He is humbled to be a part of the Wyoming Rodeo Ministry leadership team and is responsible for fundraising and helping to train volunteers to share the three-minute story of how Jesus Christ changed their lives. Shane said, “The Wyoming Rodeo Ministry is having a profound impact on the Kingdom by sharing the gospel with large numbers of people, but still in a one-on-one format.”
