James Scott is the founder of the Wyoming Rodeo Ministry. His passion and zeal for the Gospel
is second to none. James has been a church planter, an outreach strategist, a cowboy evangelist
and a vision seeker for the last 13 years. James graduated from Golden Gate Seminary with a
CLD (Center for Leadership Diploma). He is the pastor at Shell Cowboy Church in Shell, WY and
he is also the Baptist preacher at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin, WY. James has
started many different ministries over the years including a men’s event named Catch-A-FIRE
which is going on its 11th year. He also helped coordinate ministries at the Dixie National Finals
Rodeo, the Mississippi State Fair, the National Junior High Finals Rodeo and the National Finals
Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. He coordinates ranch rodeos, soccer camps, community dinners
and many different projects in their small-town communities. He frequently speaks at men’s
conferences and revivals, wild game suppers, youth groups, homeless shelters, schools, prison’s
and to over 60 churches a year.
His passion for lost people drives him every day to be very intentional about seeking the lost
and sharing the Gospel as well as teaching others how to share the Gospel. His favorite
scripture is John 14:6, I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except
thru me. His passion and his excitement for JESUS CHRIST follow’s him everywhere he goes. His
boldness to pray anywhere and anytime is a rare gift from God. He has been married to his
best friend, Rebecca for nearly 30 years and they have 3 boys, 3 daughters-in-law and 2
grandchildren. He has also published two books called, from Range Ridin’ to Soul Seekin’ and
BRAKETIME. James enjoys the cowboy lifestyle, fishing and talking about Jesus every chance he
