James Scott grew up in Worland Wyoming and has called the Big Horn Mountains his stomping grounds for over 20 years! He has been a church planter, an outreach strategist, and a cowboy evangelist for the last six years and in the ministry for 10 years. James graduated from Golden Gate Seminary with a CLD (Center for Leadership Diploma). He is the pastor at Shell Cowboy Church in Shell WY and he is also the Baptist preacher at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin WY. James has been instrumental in starting the Wyoming Rodeo Ministry at the National High School Finals Rodeo and a men’s event named CatchAFIRE which is in its 5th year. He also helped coordinate ministries at the Dixie National Finals Rodeo and the National Junior High Finals Rodeo. He coordinates horse camps, soccer camps and helps out at the Sturgis Bike Rally in Sturgis SD. He frequently speaks at men’s conferences and revivals, youth groups, homeless shelters, prison’s and to over 20 churches a year.
His passion for lost people drives him every day to be very intentional about seeking the lost. His favorite scripture is John 14:6 I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except thru me. His passion and his excitement for JESUS CHRIST follow’s him everywhere he goes. His boldness to pray anywhere and anytime is a rare gift from God. He has been married to his best friend, Rebecca for nearly 23 years and they have 3 boys.
